About the upcoming workshop in Comalapa, Guatemala

ECOHAB is excited to announce our return to Guatemala, partnering with nonprofits Long Way Home and Team Up in a village just outside of Comalapa. We will construct a computer classroom that offers security, controlled temperature, reliable electricity while catching water, and possibly containing sewage. This impactful project will take place from October 20th to November 14th, 2025, and we want YOU to be a part of it!

  • Hands-on Building Experience: ECOHAB offers a unique construction method focused on the intersection of ecology and adaptive-design. Whether you’re a seasoned builder or completely new to construction, our workshops are designed for all skill levels. You’ll gain real-world experience working alongside the ECOHAB team, local community members, and fellow volunteers. No experience necessary! We’ll provide the guidance and training you need, and everyone is welcome.

  • Cultural Immersion: This is more than just construction. You'll be fully immersed in the vibrant culture of Guatemala, meeting local residents and connecting with people from around the world.

  • Learn and Grow: Our month-long workshop includes 2-3 classes each week, offering invaluable skills and knowledge revolved around environmentally conscious building that you can apply both personally and professionally. Plus, we’ll be building classrooms that will make a lasting impact on local children’s education.

  • One week: $350

  • Guatemala Locals: FREE

  • Latin American Residents: 25% off with requested code

  • ECOHAB Workshop Alumni: 50% off with requested code (For those who have completed a full month workshop)

Lodging: Affordable lodging typically ranges from $10-$13 per night. We will be providing multiple options/suggestions for affordable lodging located in Comalapa.
